Why I Choose the Eve Motion Sensor?

Motion sensors are the backbone of many smart home automations. At the time of purchase, the Eve Motion Sensor wasn’t my first HomeKit motion sensor. This sensor has been a lifesaver since I put it in my office. It’s been running non-stop, triggering automations based on motion. The main one is that it checks the light level in the office and turns on the main light or my desk lamp accordingly. When my day is over and  I’m not in the office, it just turns on the main light and then turns it off when no one’s around.

I’ve been really impressed with the Eve Motion Sensor. It’s been doing great compared to my other sensors. And guess what? The battery life has been amazing since I’ve been using it every day! The only little snag I had was right after I turned on Matter on the sensor. None of the HomeKit automations were working. But I just had to re-add the device to HomeKit, and voila! Everything was back to normal. I’m not sure if it was the sensor or something else, but it’s all sorted now. Now, it’s not the cheapest sensor out there, but it’s definitely worth checking out.
